Why Beko Has Been Named Energy Star Partner of the Year Twice
Every year, Energy Star — along with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy — names its Partners of the Year. These are companies that have gone above and beyond to provide energy efficient options to customers, and that promote environmentally friendly business practices.
In 2018, Beko US was named a Partner of the Year in the Product Brand Owner category for the second year in a row. So, what makes a Partner of the Year, and how did Beko earn the distinction two years in a row?
What’s a Partner of the Year?
The Partner of the Year award is the highest level of recognition offered by the EPA. It distinguishes companies that prioritize energy management and innovation in clean air technology. The award is given only to corporations that can prove companywide energy savings, that consistently employ environmentally friendly practices across organizational levels, and that actively promote the benefits of an Energy Star certification. Partners can receive awards in three different areas: energy management, energy efficiency program delivery, and service and product provider.
Beko’s Energy Excellence
When Beko US first won the Partner of the Year title in 2017, over 90 percent of its home appliances were Energy Star certified. This year, every single one of its appliances is certified, and over 90 percent of its product lineup earned recognition as Energy Star Most Efficient appliances. • Clothes Dryers: Both of Beko’s ventless dryers were certified as Energy Star Most Efficient appliances this year.
